On the initiative of the International Auschwitz Committee based in Berlin, in November 2017, a sculpture of memory “B” (“to B remembered”) was installed on the premises of the Tourist Service Center in Birkenau, an upside-down letter from the cynical inscription “ARBEIT MACHT FREI” from the main gate of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp.
